Agile Business Analysis
The Agile Business Analysis courses (AgileBA®), accredited by the APMG and created in conjunction with Agile Business Consortium, are designed to give a Business Analyst the skills needed to successfully gather, analyse, validate and champion the requirements throughout an Agile project. The courses will describe the most popular Agile approaches and will use the DSDM Agile Project Framework to take the Agile Business Analyst through the phases of an Agile project.
Agile Business Analysts are an integral part of the Agile team throughout the life of a project. They facilitate collaboration within the project team and across the business. In addition to their traditional skills of modelling and specification, the Agile Business Analyst requires new skills in collaboration, facilitation, leadership and coaching. They must adapt to new ways of eliciting, specifying and managing requirements.
The AgileBA® guidance and supporting Foundation and Practitioner training courses explain how to lay the foundations for successful Business Analysis within an agile environment. AgileBA® certification is aimed at aspiring and practicing Business Analysts and Change Specialists, and at team members wishing to adopt a fast-paced, flexible and collaborative approach to Business Analysis whilst maintaining required standards and rigour.
As the use of agile approaches increases, business analysts struggle to determine how their role maps to the new approach and how it has changed from their familiar development process. Business analysts, for example, often find themselves proclaiming “in everything I read/hear about agile, I never see “business analyst” mentioned!” Even though the role of business analyst is rarely mentioned in descriptions of agile it does not mean that business analysis does not occur. In fact, agile’s focus on delivering value to customers requires the entire team to collaboratively perform business analysis on a frequent basis. This and other characteristics of agile change how a business analyst works on a project.
